This page explains how to cancel a Saalis plan, your EU right of withdrawal, and when refunds apply. Payments are handled by our Merchant of Record, Paddle, so some steps happen through them.

The short version You can cancel any time and keep access until the end of the period you paid for. The free trial takes no card, so there's nothing to cancel or refund, it simply drops to Free. If you're an EU consumer, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal on a new paid subscription, explained below.

01The free trial

New users can try Pro free for 7 days without entering a card. Because no payment is taken, there is nothing to cancel and nothing to refund. When the trial ends, your account automatically drops to the Free tier unless you choose to subscribe. You're never charged just for trialling.

02Cancelling a paid plan

You can cancel a Pro or Premium subscription at any time from your account or the billing portal (provided by Paddle). When you cancel:

Cancelling stops the next renewal, it doesn't, by itself, refund the current period. Refunds are covered below.

03EU 14-day right of withdrawal

If you're a consumer in the EU or EEA, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a new digital subscription within 14 days of purchase, without giving a reason.

There's one important detail for digital services that start right away. Saalis gives you access immediately after you subscribe. Under EU law, to get that immediate access you are asked at checkout to (a) expressly consent to the service starting before the 14-day period ends, and (b) acknowledge that once the service has been fully performed you lose the right of withdrawal. This consent is captured by Paddle during checkout.

In practice: if you withdraw within 14 days and have made little or no use of the service, we'll refund you. If you've substantially used the service during that time, a proportionate amount may be retained for what was already provided, as the law allows. If you haven't given that consent and access hasn't started, your full 14-day withdrawal applies as normal.

04Other refunds

Outside the withdrawal window, subscriptions are generally non-refundable for time already elapsed, since access was available to you. That said, we're reasonable people running a small studio, if something went genuinely wrong (for example, a billing error, a duplicate charge, or the service was unusable through our fault), contact us and we'll put it right. Statutory consumer rights always apply on top of this policy and are never reduced by it.

05How to request a refund or withdraw

Email support@saalis.app from the address on your account, telling us what you'd like and why. We'll confirm and, where a refund is due, process it back to your original payment method through Paddle. Refunds are issued by Paddle as Merchant of Record; the time to appear on your statement depends on your bank.

06Business (B2B) customers

The 14-day right of withdrawal is a consumer protection. If you subscribe as a business (for example, using a VAT ID at checkout), that statutory withdrawal right generally does not apply, and the standard cancellation terms in section 2 govern instead. Any goodwill refund is at our discretion.

07Payments provider

Payments, cancellations, and refunds for Saalis are processed by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd) as our Merchant of Record and seller of record. Paddle's buyer terms also apply to your purchase; see paddle.com/legal.

08Governing law & disputes

This policy is governed by the laws of Finland, without removing mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. EU consumers can also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform.
